Case Management
Success Coaches, also known as case managers, are committed to providing personalized support tailored to each family’s unique circumstances and goals. With connections to essential services like housing, healthcare, and workforce coaching, to offering emotional support and advocacy, case management strives to empower families to achieve stability and self-sufficiency.
Mental Health
At Freedom House, we understand that addressing mental health is a crucial component of holistic support for families facing homelessness. To ensure our residents have access to essential mental health care, we’ve partnered with N.E.W. Community Clinic to provide in-house counseling services.
Every week, a licensed counselor visits our shelter to offer personalized support, therapy, and mental health resources directly to residents. This collaboration allows us to address the emotional well-being of the families staying at the house.
Financial Literacy
To help residents build a strong financial foundation, we partner with a dedicated volunteer who visits the shelter each week to lead a comprehensive financial wellness course. This program covers essential topics such as budgeting, saving, and managing debt.
Each resident is given access to their own account on a specialized financial wellness site, where they can complete interactive courses and track their progress. By providing these resources, we aim to equip families with the knowledge and tools they need to achieve financial stability and independence.
Career Navigation
We recognize that finding meaningful employment with a living wage is a key step towards stability for families experiencing homelessness. To support this journey, we have an in-house contract with the Department of Workforce Development and a case manager who specializes in workforce coaching.
A dedicated career navigator meets with the residents, offering personalized guidance to help them explore career options, develop job-search strategies, and find employment that aligns with their skills and interests.
Meals
We provide three nutritious meals daily—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—along with a small evening snack. Our dedicated culinary staff thoughtfully plans and prepares every meal, while some meals being further enriched by the generous contributions of volunteers who assist in both food provision and preparation. This collaborative effort ensures that every family receives balanced and satisfying meals, fostering a sense of community at every dining experience.
Basic Needs
Meeting the basic needs of residents is a top priority, ensuring that families feel supported and comfortable throughout their stay. We offer a well-stocked clothing closet that residents can access at any time to find clothing for themselves and their children.
In addition, we provide weekly requests for hygiene and care items for each family, ensuring they have the essentials needed for daily life. Each room is equipped with its own private shower, and every floor features a laundry area stocked with supplies, available for families to use at their convenience.
These resources are designed to support both the practical and personal needs of every family, helping them maintain dignity and comfort as they work towards stability.
The Bridge
Freedom House understands that navigating the housing market can be difficult. We have partnered with House of Hope and Golden House to help families who have low income or are on a housing voucher. Our property located on the west side of Green Bay has nine apartments that offer another affordable option for families.
