Your Time Can Change Lives
When you volunteer at Freedom House, you can make a positive impact on families in our community. Your time, talent and compassion will bring hope and dignity to children and families.

Individual Volunteer Opportunities
Front Desk
Volunteers greet donors and residents entering the building with a smiling face and gracious interaction, answer/screen phone calls and bring a friendly, positive presence to the house. This position can be flexible and is usually between normal business hours of 8 am to 4 pm; however, we would like this to be an on-going, regular schedule.
Childcare
Provide attentive, loving childcare for House kiddos while parents attend financial and other educational programming. These classes are in the evening from 6:30-7:30 pm. We would like you to arrive 15 minutes prior and wait until all the kids are picked up by their parents (usually by 7:45 pm). We prefer this to be an on-going, regular schedule.
Cleaning & Organizing
With 60 people in shelter every day, the House could always use an extra deep clean. We also receive donations from the community that need laundering, sorting and processing. Based on the season, we may also need help with landscaping and lawn care, etc. Your dedication helps keep our building looking shiny and bright and brings a sense of calm and love to all who enter.
Special Events
We love to offer activities for families to encourage strong relationships and bring love and fun to the daily routine! You could host a game night, offer crafting, decorate the House for the holidays, or set up an outdoor movie! The possibilities are endless, and we would love to hear your ideas!
Fundraising Supporter
Do you have the knowledge or enjoy helping events run smoothly. You could lead the decorating, help gather donations for auction items, or setup/take down for a Freedom House event. We’d love to hear how you could be a part of a volunteer fundraising team!
Group Volunteer Opportunities
Meal Team
Enjoying meals together is an integral piece to family bonding and growing together. Come be a part of our Freedom House family by serving a meal to the House. We look to community members to help serve lunch (11:30 am –12:30 pm) and dinner 5:00-6:00 pm Monday-Thursday. The kitchen can comfortably have up to 4 volunteers, however other meal team volunteers are welcome to greet and join the residents. You are welcome to cook a meal prior to serving off-site or utilize our fully equipped kitchen. You are welcome to drop off prepared meals as well if you don’t have the time to come to Freedom House and serve.
